Vyasa's Mahabharata/Vyasarin Mahabharatam

Vyasa's Mahabharata/Vyasarin Mahabharatam (Tamil) tells the story of how Lord Ganesha became the scribe for Vyasa, writing down the great epic as the Rishi dictated it.
Summary Of The Book
The epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata are an intrinsic part of the culture and society of India. The stories are entrenched in the Indian psyche.
The stories of Mahabharata are well known. But there is a story behind this story. This is what this book, Vyasa's Mahabharata/Vyasarin Mahabharatam (Tamil) recounts. When Sage Vyasa decided to compose the epic, he was faced with a challenge. His mind was flooded with the stories, and all the events that happened that led to the great Mahabharata war.
However, when he sat down to write, he found that his hands could not match the speed of his thoughts. While his mind poured out the stories like a rushing waterfall, his hands seemed to move sluggishly, as though through a river of mud.
Vyasa became impatient and wanted to find someone who could write down the epic as fast as he dictated it. But, he couldn't think of the right person to do this. He sat down in contemplation, thinking about who would be best suited for the job. Then Lord Brahma, the Creator, appeared before him. He told Vyasa that Lord Ganesha would be the perfect choice to take up the job of the scribe for the Mahabharata. Now, Sage Vyasa had to find Ganesha and convince him to take up the job.
Ganesha agreed to write down Vyasa's Mahabharata/Vyasarin Mahabharatam as the sage dictated it. However, he had one tough condition. He said that the sage should not pause and give Ganesha a break as he wrote down the verses. If he did, Ganesha said he would stop writing down the epic.
Sage Vyasa agreed to this condition, and the huge epic was composed and written down without a hitch. How Vyasa managed to overcome the condition laid down by Ganesha is retold in an interesting manner in this book, with charming illustrations that lend a contemporary style and context to the story.
