The Three Mistakes Of My Life

First published in the year 2008, The Three Mistakes Of My Life is a novel that revolves around the life of three youngsters in Gujarat, at the turn of the millennium.
Summary Of The Book
This book is the Telugu version of the novel. The plot of The Three Mistakes Of My Life, is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and revolves around three good friends, Govind, Ishaan, and Omi. The three have different objectives and talents, Ishaan helping to better Ali, a student in his cricket class, excell as a cricketer, Govind deciding to start his own business, while Omi just likes being with his friends.
The plot begins with Govind’s plan to start a cricket shop, which he does, along with Omi and Ishaan. The business seems to go well, and they come across Ali, who is a fabulous cricketer, however, he is a Muslim. The three friends take the young lad under their wing, and help in bettering him as a cricketer. Things begin to take a rough turn in their friendship with the occurrence of the Gujarat earthquake, along with the Godhra riots, which lead to tension between Hindus and Muslims in the country.
A film adaptation of this novel, entitled Kai Po Che! was released on the 22nd of February 2013. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie has been shot in Gujarat.
About Chetan Bhagat
The author of this book, Chetan Bhagat, is also a well-known columnist, and speaker from India.
Apart from this book, Bhagat has published five other books. Some of the literary works by Bhagat include One Night @ the Call Center, Revolution 2020: Love, Corruption, Ambition, and Five Point Someone - What Not To Do At IIT!
Born on the 22nd of April, 1974, Bhagat hails from New Delhi. He completed his studies from Army Public School, Dhaula Khan, New Delhi. Following that, he completed his degree from Indian Institute Of Technology (1991-95), where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He later attended the Indian Institute Of Management (1995-1997). After completing his education, he held the post of an investment banker in Hong Kong, where he stayed for 11 years. He currently speaks at programs held by newspaper companies, such as The Times Of India and Dainik Bhaskar. Bhagat has also played the role of a judge on Voice Of India- Star Anchor Hunt. He currently resides in Mumbai, along with his wife and two sons.
