The Holy Science

Written in 1894 in the vernacular, The Holy Science explicates a web of interrelations between the Holy Bible and the Upanishads to reveal common linkages that alluded to the unity among all religions.
Summary Of The Book
The ultimate objective of The Holy Science is to exhume and propose the truth that all religions belong to the same unit. He proposes that the vehicles upon which the faiths lay their premise is the same and that all faiths converge in the final goal. The book introduces itself with this objective and seeks out detailed arguments that find parallels between Christianity and Hinduism to espouse that same cause.
The book is divided into four episodes, which according to the author arise from the four stages of knowledge in their development. He draws analogies between Sanskrit slokas and passages from the New Testament in this enquiry draws its inspiration mostly from the Book of Revelation. The first episode deals with creation and is titled “The Gospel” where he links the fundamental truth of creation between the two faiths.
The next episode is centred around the phenomenon of “The Goal.” Here Sri Yukteswar Giri explains that all creations across all the links belong to three realizations. These engage that of existence, bliss and consciousness. The third episode lays down “The Procedure” that is finally the method understand the three purposes of life. The last section is titled “The Revelation” where he sets out to explain the revelations that are due to all those beings who travel to realize the three ideals that are replete in life.
Through The Holy Science, several concepts such as nothingness, the darkness Maya, Trikuti the door of the inner and the consecration of the anointed are all discussed in a lucid and comprehensive manner. His analogies draw inferences into the sounds made in Aum and Amen and also the Sannyasi and Christ. The book also expounded the author’s Yuga theory that deviates from the bulk of Indian spiritualists in revolutionizing the cycle or Yuga and its correct interpretation.
His theory of refuting the current era on Earth and his theory of the Sun’s binary companion all attracted the attention of several scholars. There has been extensive research developed due to his theory and even an iPhone application that draws from his calculations.
