Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography, written by Walter Isaacson,  is an interesting account of the life of an entrepreneur who revolutionized the world’s idea of personal computers when he co-founded Apple Computer, Inc. (now Apple Inc.). And that entrepreneur is none other than Steve Jobs - a man who is a continued source of awe, inspiration, and curiosity to billions of people all over the world.
The book explores numerous facets of Jobs’ life, covering its highest of highs and its lowest of lows. Above all, it highlights two key elements that Jobs was and continues to be synonymous with - innovation and perfection. Being the clever and far-sighted entrepreneur that he was, Jobs merged technology and creativity to bring about sustained innovation in the 21st century. His life’s work has succeeded in pioneering revolutionary changes in several industries like phones, music, animated movies, digital publishing, and tablet computing. Moreover, Steve Jobs has wrought these changes on a global scale, leaving behind a legacy of imagination and invention.
The biography had Jobs’ seal of approval. It is backed by nearly two years of research covering over forty interviews with Jobs and numerous conversations with Jobs’ friends, family members, and even business competitors.
Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography was published in 2011 by Simon & Schuster. It went on to become an international bestseller and even broke various sales records as a biography. A film adaptation of the book is in the pipeline as of July 2012. This particular edition is a Marathi translation by Vilas Salunke. It has been published by Diamond Publications, Pune.
About The Authors
Walter Isaacson is a writer, journalist, and biographer.
His written works include Kissinger: A Biography, Benjamin Franklin: An American Life, Einstein: His Life And Universe, and American Sketches: Great Leaders, Creative Thinkers, and Heroes of a Hurricane. He has also co-authored books like The Wise Men: Six Friends And The World They Made with a New Introduction by the Authors, and The Way To Wealth And Other Writings On Finance.
Biographical accounts of influential men such as Benjamin Franklin, Henry Kissinger, and Albert Einstein formed a major part of his writing.
Isaacson was born on May 20, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended the Isidore Newman School. He then graduated from Harvard College with a BA in history and literature. He followed it up with Philosophy, Politics, and Economics studies at the Pembroke College, University of Oxford as a Rhodes scholar. Isaacson was on Time magazine’s 2012 list of The 100 most influential people in the world. He is on the boards of various American organizations such as Teach for America. He has also served the US government in various capacities. Isaacson is currently serving as the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute. He lives in Washington D.C. with his wife Cathy Isaacson and their daughter.
Vilas Salunke has written books like Basics Of Literary Criticism and The Mystic Drum. He has also translated Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography to Marathi.
