About Dr. Prakash Amte
Prakash Amte is a medical doctor and social worker from Maharashtra. He is the son of Magsaysay awardee and legend, Baba Amte. Dr. Amte and his wife, Dr. Mandakini Amte were awarded the Magsaysay Award for 'Community Leadership' in 2008 for the extraordinary contribution in rehabilitating tribals from Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra and the neighboring states of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
