Tintin in the Congo is second volume of the Adventures of Tintin comic book series by Herge. Rejoin Tintin and Snowy as they journey to the Belgian Congo to report on events in the country. This Bengali translation captures the magic and mystery of the original.
Summary of the Book
Tintin, the Belgian reporter, is sent to the Belgian Congo to investigate the events which are going on in the country. With his loyal fox terrier Snowy in tow, he sets off and hires a young boy, Coco, to help him navigate through the country. After a couple of dangerous adventures, Tintin meets the King and soon makes enemies of the Babaorum witch-doctor Muganga. However, Tintin uncovers the witch doctor's plan of desecrating the natives' idol along with a criminal stowaway, winning the respect of all the natives. Angered, Muganga hatches a plan to start a clan war. Can Tintin stop the two Congo tribes from destroying each other to serve one mad man's agenda? Or is he doomed to become leopard food? And although it looks like the work of madmen, is there a chance that this entire embargo is being orchestrated by someone more invisible, more evil than a witch doctor? Find out in this action packed book from Herge!
